Texas Drivers License Test

Texas Drivers License Test

Are you preparing to take the Texas Drivers License Test? Admit it. No one likes to take a test, any test.

A test simply points out if the person can meet or exceed the requirements of the chosen task, such as driving a vehicle.

Nowadays, you can enroll in a driver’s education program online, take the practice test and get yourself ready to take the practical exam in the comfort of your own home!

If I had that convenience decades ago I would certainly  have taken advantage of it myself.

Before anyone can legally drive you must learn how to drive.

Driver's Ed has come a long way from the days of being taught by your dad on an empty lot or stretch of road, then taking the learners test, hopefully passing it, then just driving until you got your driver’s license.

These days you generally have to enroll in a driver’s education course, read up on the laws that apply to you, take the test, pass it, take the practical exam, pass it before you even get your learner's permit.

The purpose is to ensure that only those who have the necessary capability to handle this responsibility will be allowed to take possession of a vehicle and drive on the road.

For this generation, driver education can even reach out to those who live in rural areas. Even if you're stuck in the middle of Texas with nothing else to see but prairies and mountains, as long as you have an internet connection you can enroll in an online driver education program that is approved by the State of Texas. One such company is I Drive Safely.

I Drive Safely is a veritable all-in-one website for those who want to start learning how to drive. It consists of the usual things that you need in order to pass the exams and get your permit and start driving.

The driver education you receive will play a significant role in making sure that you know what you are doing on the road. It is not just a matter of getting in the car, starting it up and driving…. Driving is not that simple anymore.

The truth is, just crossing an intersection in a car means you are actually thinking of at least three basic laws that you need to follow.

  1. The right of way rule.
  2. The boulevard rule.
  3. The visible traffic sign posts marking what you can do and cannot do in that specific intersection.

The majority of accidents happen when you are distracted and thinking of something else while driving. This is what you should never be doing. Focus on driving when driving and nothing else.

Texas Driver License Renewal

Of course, after you've carried your Texas driver license for a few years, the time will come when you need to renew it.

Texas Department of Traffic Safety states that you need to go through the Texas Driver License Renewal process in order to renew your license every 6 years until you reach 85 years old and every 5 years from 85 and beyond.

Before your license actually expires the Texas DPS will send you a Texas Driver License renewal notice. Whether you receive the notice or not, it is still the driver's responsibility to renew their license on time.

You don't have to take the Texas Drivers License test every time you renew your drivers license. As long as you don't let your license expire or have it suspended, all you have to do is provide the proper paperwork, pay the fee, and (in some instances) pass the eye exam.

There are 4 ways for you to renew your Texas driver license:

  • Mail
  • In Person
  • Online
  • Phone

Most people will probably renew their license in person, but the other options are a convenience offered to some license holders when they receive their renewal form.

So, to sum it all up, don't be afraid to take your Texas Drivers License Test. Just take the time to prepare yourself so that you have the confidence to go in pass the first time. If you are unlucky enough to fail the the Texas Drivers License test, don't give up. You can take it again after you've done a bit more study and practice.
