Dangers Of Laughing And Driving

Are There Really Dangers Of Laughing And Driving?
I was a passenger in a friend's car and I cracked a joke.
A few seconds later, we were both laughing so much that my friend couldn't breathe anymore and she passed out.
She clipped the rear of a truck, hit another car head on - it went flying 85 feet down the street - the vehicle we were in rolled, hit another car and came to rest on the passenger side.
My friend (finally) woke up, uninjured wondering what happened, unbuckled her seat belt and fell on top of me. I'm still going to the chiropractor ...and we still don't remember what we were laughing about.

Hi Marie,
Oh my word! I'm so glad that no one was hurt!
I could actually see this happening. There have been times in life when something has struck me as so funny that I absolutely could not get my laughter under control. =)
Fortunately, I was never behind the wheel at the time.
I would imagine your friend's insurance company wasn't too impressed with this claim. I'll bet her rates jumped considerably after that.
I do love a good laugh and even endorse the saying "laughter is the best medicine," but I can certainly see that there just may be occasions when there are actually some dangers of laughing and driving if you are susceptible to passing out from laughing so hard! ;)
Beware exuberant laughers!
Well, if you ever remember the funny joke that turned driving and laughing into a real disaster, please do come back and tell it here! We'd all love a good laugh.
