Car Insurance Quote Australia

Car Insurance Quote Australia

If you're looking for a car insurance quote Australia, I've got some basic tips that will help you save a bit of money on your insurance bill.

Honestly, don't spend more on Australian auto insurance than you have to.

I do hate spending money and not getting anything in return. It seems so wasteful. That is what auto insurance seems to me - a waste of good money. :-)

Oh, I know that I would change my tune if I ever got into a serious car accident and needed to make a large claim.  However, I've been driving for almost 30 years and that hasn't happened yet.

That's a LOT of money spent on automobile insurance with nothing in return.  (I think I'm in the wrong business!)

Having said that, there is no alternative. We are legally bound to purchase Australia car insurance if we want to drive, which of course I do.

Technically, the only required auto insurance in Australia is CTP or Compulsory Third Party. CTP protects other people who may be injured in an accident when we are driving. That is fair enough, I guess.

It is just somewhat frustrating paying for insurance year after year that you never actually use. Of course, I don't want to have an accident just to get my money's worth. :-)

Since I begrudge paying out for a service I don't actually use, I try to get the cheapest car insurance in Australia possible. The following hints are some things I discovered along the way.

  1. Take advantage of the No Claim Discount. If you do have a good record, be sure to ask about a discount every time you renew your insurance policy.

  2. Check into a Family Discount. This is especially for young people or new drivers. You can save if you are added to your parent's policy as long as they have a good driving history.

  3. Choose a high excess. The higher excess (deductible) you are willing to pay, the lower your premium rates will be.

  4. Don't over insure. If you have an older motor vehicle, consider dropping your comprehensive cover. You won't be reimbursed if you are at fault in an accident, but if your auto is older, you won't be getting much anyway. :)

  5. Keep all your insurances together. Combine your home and contents insurance with your life insurance and car insurance policies. This will give you a multiple policy discount.

  6. Get a variety of quotes online. You usually get a discount for purchasing your insurance policy online. Be sure to check around and do some comparison shopping. Take advantage of this competitive industry.

For the best car insurance quote Australia, do keep these handy hints in mind. If you make yourself aware of all your options, you can save quite a bit of cash each year on your Australia auto insurance. More money in your pocket is always a good thing!
