Belair Direct Canada Car Insurance
Belair Direct does not seem like an honest company!
I called Belair today to get a quote for car and house insurance. My credit is great, in the 800's.
I have a 20 year old son that lives with me. He does not have good credit, and he had his permit suspended (for 3 months).
Because of this Belair Direct refused me. Go figure, and it was for me that I was calling for insurance and not my son. Wowowowowowo, unbelievable.
I thought they would like new clients. The fact is that my son called them for car insurance and they said they would insure him if he paid up for the year, and then they refused me (a new client)!
What a crazy experience you had with Belair Direct Insurance. I don't know if it qualifies Belair as a dishonest company, but it does sound like they are a little bit crazy! :)
When you mentioned your son's driving record, I could at first see that they would be hesitant to insure you because he lives at home. Usually drivers living in the same household have an effect on the insurance rates - which can be good or bad, depending on that driver's age, gender, and driving history.
However, when you went on to say that they offered HIM insurance, that made the whole scenario seem a little more than strange. It's downright confusing and nonsensical.
I suppose the only way I can see it making sense is if that policy that they were offering him was really expensive.
The only other option they might have been willing to offer you would be to include an exclusion in your policy that stated that if your son drove your vehicle he would not be covered by your policy.
Anyway, don't worry about Belair Insurance. There are plenty of other good insurance companies in Canada who I'm sure will be more than happy to accept your money for your Canada car insurance
