The USAA Casualty Insurance Company is a subsidiary of USAA insurance
that allows non-military personnel to take advantage of some of the
great USAA products and services as associate members.
Standard USAA car insurance is a great product and the insurance itself is set up in a rather unusual manner.
Technically speaking, the insured members are all insuring each other with their premiums each month. It's called an inter-insurance exchange, and I quite like the idea.
However, the "USAA Casualty Insurance Company" section falls into a more normal category of insurance company.
Non-military USAA members (those who are related to service personnel,
but haven't been enlisted themselves) can still enjoy USAA car insurance
as well as many of the other product offerings.

As you can see, if you're able to qualify as a USAA member, whether through their traditional program or their associate member program, you can pretty much get all of your various insurance needs cared for under one roof.
A lot of people don't like the idea of having "all of their eggs in one basket" but when it comes to insurance, there are usually advantages in doing so.
First of all, almost all insurance companies offer you discounts when you take out more than one type of policy with them. The USAA casualty insurance is no exception.
