State Farms Insurance is Less Than Stellar

I've been with State Farms Insurance since my parents added me to their policy over 3 decades ago. I'm a safe driver and only received a single parking ticket during this time.


I have twice filed State Farm insurance claims for a broken window. One they paid, one they refused as it was under the deductible amount and I didn't carry comprehensive coverage at that time.


I have often felt the State Farm Insurance offices were unresponsive to my needs/queries. I would like to switch over to insuring my license instead of my vehicle so I am covered no matter what I drive but all I get is a run-around. ;-(


Renewal time my rates sneak upward but not terribly so. However, each time I move they skyrocket!


When I moved to the city they went up because of increased risk overall. When I moved from the city to the country they went up even more due to deer damage.


When I moved from one country location to another (with deer the size of dogs, thus a non-issue) my State Farm rates still went up a big chunk. They used to be affordable but are not now because I have moved often over the last twenty years.


If you own your home and plan on staying in place for decades a State Farm auto quote may not be a terrible choice. If you're just starting out, keep looking. They aren't worth the price.


Off to find a replacement for me. I listed the last move as a temporary one to hold rates until I can jump ship.

Thanks for your review of State Farms Insurance. I can't believe they keep raising your rates when you have been with them for so many years without any significant claims. That definitely isn't what we usually hear from State Farm clients.


I think you are quite right to 'jump ship' if you just can't get them to listen and work with you. Someone else is much more likely to give you a better deal.
