State Farm Bloomington, Illinois

by Judy
(Schaumburg, IL)

My husband and I have had our car insurance with State Farm Bloomington, Illinois, for over 15 years and are very happy with it.

We have had to file a few claims and they have been handled quickly and, I feel, fairly.

Our State Farm auto insurance rates did go up after the claims for 3 years and then they were reduced back down after we kept a clean driving record for a period of time.

The State Farm premiums seem to be competitive with other companies, that's why we've stayed with them and recommended them to others.

Hi Judy,

It's nice to hear that your State Farm Insurance and claims experience was fairly positive. I guess it's par for the course that your rates will go up if you are unlucky enough to get in an accident.

I like the concept of accident forgiveness, though, I have to admit. It's not that I've had many claims myself, but it's the principle of the thing.

I feel like we are paying for auto insurance in case we DO have to make a claim. Why should our premiums go up if the inevitable happens and we need to actually get back some of what we've been paying for all these years? You know what I mean?

Whoever thought of the concept of auto insurance coverage (or insurance in general for that matter) must have had a brilliantly conniving sort of mind. ;) At the least, a good nose for smelling out a way to make money!

Anyway, I'm glad you pointed out that your premiums went down again after a period of time with no further claims. That should be automatic, but for others who may not know this, if you find yourself in a similar situation to Judy (a claim or two being made), be sure to ask about how long until your rates go back down. This way you can "remind" your insurance company if necessary when the time has passed with a clean slate.

Thanks again for taking the time to tell us about your experience with State Farm Bloomington, Illinios.

Safe Driving!
