Save Money on Car Insurance?
While searching for a new source for car insurance due to rate increases by Progressive, I responded to one of Geico's ads saying that I could save 15% or more. Save money on car insurance?
I am over 50, no accidents or tickets in over 20 years, and drive less than 8K miles/year.
The quote I received was about 50% above what I was already paying. Wondering if this was an anomaly, I tried again after about two weeks but the result was the same.
I was already paying too much and they wanted to charge more that my already-high rate.
I wonder who in the world would possibly be saving any money switching to Geico.
Definitely not any of us safe drivers. I did finally choose a company that costs half of what I was paying (Hartford).
It's true. You can't always believe the advertising. That's why it pays to shop around.
It's a rotten shame that Progressive was raising your insurance rates even though you were not making any claims or getting any traffic violations.
What were they thinking? Now they are one less customer who was actually making them steady money!
I'm glad you found
the Hartford would give you a better deal. They particularly advertise to drivers over 50, so I'm glad that they are delivering on
their advertising at least.
Thanks again for Giving your review and story about how you can save money on car insurance.
