RV Insurance Canada - a "must have" if you plan to take to the open road and explore some of the phenomenal beauty that's at your disposal in the Canadian great outdoors.

It doesn't matter if you plan to travel through Ontario, Manitoba, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Alberta, Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, Saskatchewan, Nunavut, the Northwest Territories, or even the Yukon.

You don't want to hit the road unless you are confident that you've got your bases covered with adequate RV insurance to cover your costs in the event of an accident, break down, or emergency situation.

Regardless of the cost of your motorhome coverage, it's an absolute necessity. RV Insurance is not only a legal requirement, but it can also be a huge financial lifesaver.

Imagine the financial loss you would incur if a problem in the wiring caused a fire that destroyed your "home on wheels" in just minutes. It wouldn't just be the contents that went up in smoke.

What about an accident that did thousands of dollars worth of damage? How about medical costs if you or your family member were seriously injured?

Sadly, you may even one day be the victim of cruel vandals who take what they want and destroy what's left.

I know I'm not painting a very rosy picture here, but unfortunately, these types of events happen to RVers every day of the week across the US and Canada. We all do our best to be as cautious and careful as possible, but we can't always avoid tragedy.

Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst! ;)

When you choose your Canadian RV insurance, there are some decisions you need to make about the amount of coverage you are comfortable doing without.

You must have liability insurance, of course, if you have a motorized recreational vehicle, in case you happen to be at fault in an accident.

But how much coverage do you want for your own losses? If you are still paying off your motorhome, 5th wheel, or other type of travel trailer, you will no doubt need to have collision coverage and replacement value coverage. Your lender will probably require it, but you wouldn't want to be stuck paying for a recreational vehicle that is absolutely worthless to you.

Are you already a member of a roadside assistance program like the Good Sam Club? If not, you may want to consider getting emergency assistance added to your RV Insurance. The cost is minimal, but it can save you hundreds if you have a break down or need a tow.

Are you planning to get the contents of your motor home insured as well? You definitely can, and it's a good idea if you are one of the lucky folks who get to be fulltime RVers.

Here's a tip: Keep an up-to-date list of the contents of your RV for insurance purposes. Don't rely on your memory! Include photos if possible so that you won't have any trouble should you have to file a claim. It's a good idea to keep a copy in a separate location, too.

Don't forget, you can get RV Insurance in Canada by visiting Kanetix and filling out their simple online quote form.

Happy Trails!
