Progressive Insurance Claims Progressive Insurance Claims argue that they are straightforward and easy to make. Hopefully, this is the case with many different insurance companies. Knowing that the claims process is easy can be very comforting. This is especially true if you happen to get into an accident. For example, when I was in high school, my mom was driving me home from school. All of a sudden, there was an elderly lady who ran a stop sign and hit my mom’s suburban head-on. Thankfully, neither my mom nor I were hurt very badly, since neither vehicle was going very fast. However, if I remember correctly, the other woman was sent to the hospital. Onlookers with cell phones witnessed the accident and were able to call for help. Since I had never been in a car accident before, I had no clue what was going to happen next. Even though this wasn’t my mom’s first car accident, I’m sure she was scared and somewhat confused. I remember her asking me how this could have happened when we were driving so slowly? She was thankful, though, that we weren’t driving fast. Fortunately, my mom had car insurance and went directly to the insurance office. I don't remember how involved making a claim turned out to be. I’m sure she checked this out and considered it when she bought her policy. However, I know we got through the process relatively calmly and are worry-free today. There are companies who make this process of submitting an insurance claim easier and others that can make it more difficult. It's a good idea to take this into consideration and ask plenty of questions when you are deciding on a company for your own auto insurance coverage. Progressive Insurance Claims ProcessIf you do decide on Progressive and then one day find yourself in a situation where you need to file a Progressive Insurance claim, they prefer that you report your claim on their webpage as soon as possible. As mentioned above, a representative should then contact you shortly afterward. An inspector, or insurance adjuster, will come inspect your vehicle and give you an estimate. This will be based upon the cost of parts, labor rates, and time involved. Sometimes, the representative may need to re-estimate your vehicle—so don’t be too surprised if this happens. Another bonus is that Progressive claims have convenient drop-off places. They maintain that their estimate process is simple and the repairs are quick and excellent, and include limited lifetime warranties. In addition, Progressive offers a towing service for your car. You can choose to either use one of Progressive’s repair shops or use their “concierge level of claim services.” They also have rental cars available and this cost may be covered under your policy. If you aren't sure if you have rental car coverage, ask your Progressive agent. It's only a couple of dollars extra per month and can save you a lot of money in the long run.
