Nationwide Insurance Company

by Terry
(Munford, TN, US)

Nationwide Insurance Company is pretty good.

I had to file a claim and, to be honest, the Nationwide agent was not much help in answering any questions.

On top of that, the vehicle was totaled and they stopped paying for the rental LONG before you have a chance to replace your vehicle. That was a real pain.

So, even though I think the company is okay, I guess my personal experience with them hasn't been the best.

I don't know if I would really recommend Nationwide Ins. to others. I might shop around a bit myself when my premiums come due again.

Hi Terry,

Thanks for the review of Nationwide Insurance Company.

You bring up a good point about the rental option. It's a good idea for everyone to check their policy to see if they have coverage for a rental car and for how many days. Some policies say 15 days, others 20 or 30.

If your policy does not include a rental vehicle if your car is in the shop, etc., it's worth asking about adding it on. It usually only costs a dollar or two a month more for the rental car option, but that can save you a lot in the long run, even if you only need it once every few years.

It's always a good idea to get some car insurance quotes and compare the prices against your current policy. The good thing is, you don't even have to wait until your policy comes up for renewal. You can swap over if you like at any time.

Chances are, when you put it off, you forget until the last minute and then can't be bothered. So you end up just staying with whoever you have, regardless of their less than stellar performance.

I think a lot of companies count on this part of human nature. :) All the best to you.
