How I Feel About Geico!
by David H.
Let me tell you how I feel about Geico...I had Geico Insurance and my daughter bought a new car. The insurance was changed, and about six months later she had and accident.
Geico said they had no insurance on this car and that the insurance was still on the car that was traded.
We had a totaled car, and because it was her fault, damages and medical bills on her and the other car owner.
I should have changed car insurance companies then, but I didn't.
A year or so goes by and my daughter gets married and moves away. Geico would not take her off my insurance.
After months of faxing them proof of her address, they change my coverage to liability only and I find out about it a few months later from my auto loan company, not Geico.
My bill didn't go down. I finally had them change this after her moter-in-law who worked for another insurance company faxed about the tenth fax with her mortgage info and stayed on the phone with the person to confirm they had received it.
That was it! On march 15, 2011, I went with another auto insurance company. My policy was not up until April 1 2011.
Today I get a letter from a collection agent saying I owe Geico $70 and some change. I call. They want to start that fax game all over again. I refuse.
After talking with a lady out of Virginia it was taken care of... I just got an email from Brent Peters to start this all over!
My goodness, David! No wonder you are completely fed up and want to express how you feel about Geico. Who could blame you?
You have more patience than me. I'd have dropped them like a hot potato after that first royal mess.
I'm so sorry to hear you got stuck with such an enormous damages bill. I hope everyone recovered physically from the accident, at least.
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with Gieco insurance. Hopefully it will serve as a warning to others to think twice before they trust Geico with their car insurance needs.
Safe driving!Angie
