Hit From Behind By A Cop!
Police Officers Get In Accidents Too!
I was just hit from behind by a cop!
I was at a red light Thursday morning waiting to go and the light turned green. Everyone proceeds to go and out of no where whaaam@#!!
I was so scared. It was really loud and when the cop car hit me it caused me to ram the car in front of me. I jumped out of the car and ran over to the cop. I was crying and angry but I didn't want to yell at an officer for being an idiot!
I just want to know what he was doing to run into the back of me like that? Perhaps on a phone or who knows.
Not everyday you hear of cops who enforce traffic laws and give tickets, hitting someone from behind when descending at a green light.
So the traffic officer who came to report the accident got the information on the driver my car hit and myself.. then he let us leave and took the officer's report.
He had the officer who hit me actually go and measure the skid marks. I have no idea what even happened, what his excuse was. He never gave me his name or even asked if I was hurt.
I don't even know if the officer was issued a ticket. I ended up driving myself to the hospital and got checked out because the whole right side of my arm went numb and my neck was killing me.
I am just glad my kids weren't in the
car and no one was seriously injured. I hope to get better in a couple weeks.
Thanks for listening,
Oh my goodness, Carrie! What an experience! You're right - it's not every day that someone gets hit from behind by a cop.
I do hope that you have requested a copy of your police report. You definitely need the name of the police officer who hit you and the details of the accident for your insurance company.
The reporting officer should have given you instructions about that so that you could be sure to have all the facts to present to your insurance company and HIS insurance company details so you don't get stuck with the bill.
Please do come back and let us know how the rest of this story ends. I hope and pray that you recover quickly from your injuries.
Keep careful records of each doctor/hospital visit (receipts and paperwork) and it would also be a good idea to keep a little journal of how you are feeling each day (pain, etc.) because you just never know if you will need it in the future and it would be better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it!
Just because you were hit from behind by a cop doesn't necessarily mean that everything will be handled the way it out to be. Stand up for yourself and your rights if necessary. If all else fails, get yourself a good auto accident lawyer in California. :) Safe Driving
