Geico Is A Rip-Off!

I think Geico is a rip-off!I moved from Maryland to Kentucky and my insurance jumped over 25%. That means that if I stay with Geico I'll be paying almost $1,200 per year.
Oh yeah, I've been driving for over 30 years and it's been over 15 years since I had any type of accident.
I have all of the safety devices for my car so I have no idea why my insurance continually goes up every new renewal other than greed.
That stupid little gecho has gotta go and this was the last straw that convinced me to cut my loses. After 10+ years, I'm ready to kick Geico to the curb!
Hi Sharon,
I feel your pain! Insurance rates can fluctuate greatly depending on the location of the insured. I believe they calculate the premiums from the claims statistics of the area in the past.
I would have thought that Kentucky rates would be less than Maryland, rather than more - unless the crime/vandalism rate was higher in your new location.
$1200 per year sounds outrageous to me, unless you are driving something really high end. My parents in Ohio are only paying 1/3 of that for comprehensive coverage!
Well, I would certainly recommend getting some
free online quotes to see if someone else could offer you a much better deal than Geico.
Let me know how it turns out, what kind of savings you are able to get and who you end up deciding on when you say "so long" to Geico.
Safe Driving!Angie
