I've been with Geico since 1976 and originally signed with them on the advice of a friend. That's 32 years with one insurance company -- so they must be doing something right.
Over the years, I've had a few claims with Geico (two for cars that were stolen and one for a small fender-bender that was my fault). The claims were handled quickly, efficiently and with total professionalism.
There's always someone at the other end of the line when I call Geico customer service, meaning that I never have gone into the phone-zone without being able to talk to a live person.
I've done some checking with other companies about rates, but Geico is always very competitive. I can't see switching at this point just to save a couple of bucks. If it were several hundreds of dollars, I might consider switching, but not before talking to Geico to see if they could match the rate. That hasn't been necessary up till now.
Obviously, I will stay with Geico, since I've been with them for 32 going on 33 years. I would definitely recommend Geico to family and friends as an insurance company that I have great confidence in.
For the record, I don't like their little "Gecko" mascot, but I do like their "Mrs. Butterworth" commercial!
Hi Suzy,
Thanks for the vote of confidence for Geico insurance. Thirty plus years is a long time to stay with an insurance company.
I hope that if you ever do happen to find a company with a substantial discount, that your Geico agent would quickly match your quote. Who would want to lose a customer like you?
I like the Geico TV commercials, even the Geico Gecko commercials, but the Mrs. Butterworth commercial is sweet.
I've added it below for those who haven't seen it. Enjoy!
