California Drivers Ed Lessons Memories

It was about 18 years ago and I was 15, when I was taking my Drivers Education lessons.

This Springstein Fanatic guy had me drive around so that he could do his errands...I even spent 20 minutes alone in the car while he went into his house!

Taking a shower? Making a sandwich? Who knows.

Anyway, he took issue with the fact that I didn't believe that Bruce-Springstein-was-the-greatest-human-being-who-ever-lived.

He spent a good 40 minutes explaining why he was. Geez, the things we wouldn't do to be able to drive as teenagers!

Hi Aura,

What a funny story! You're right. Driving was such a high priority that we'd certainly put up with a lot to be able to get behind the wheel.

What's really funny is that the older I get, the happier I am getting to let other people drive so that I can sit back and relax or read or even sleep! :)

I wonder if it's typical that driving instructors tend to seem a bit weird to their teenage students. I know my own drivers ed teacher was a bit on the odd side too, and that was in Ohio instead of California.

Oh well, at least your drivers ed was memorable and you have an interesting story to tell your kids one day! Thanks for sharing it here. It made me smile today and brought back memories of my own.
