An Australia car insurance comparison is a great way to save money on your auto insurance.
I recently had to buy Australia auto insurance for a new car I'd purchased and made an interesting and pleasant discovery.
There is a pretty good amount of "wiggle room" when it comes to insurance companies giving you a quote for your annual premium.
I say "new" car, but it really isn't new, just new to me. :) It's a very well kept 2003 Ford Fairmont that I've purchased from some friends, and I absolutely love it!
I told my friends that it's like going from flying economy to flying first class. It's a real pleasure and joy to drive it.
Okay, I'm done gushing about my new purchase. ;)
What I really wanted to tell you about was the benefit of taking the time to do an Australia car insurance comparison.
I happen to bank with Suncorp Metway, and I really like the folks there at my local branch. They are a great bunch of people so I do feel a sense of loyalty to SuncorpMetway as a result.
I've always used them for my auto insurance in the past, though I've only ever had cause to get Third Property Property and CTP because my cars were never that flash. This time I wanted to get the full deal - Comprehensive coverage.
Of course, I called my local Suncorp first to see what kind of quote I would get. They were wonderfully helpful as usual and I got a pretty decent price. However, I didn't stop there.
Australia has a wide range of competitive auto insurance companies and you can usually see at least one TV commercial per day advertising one or the other of them.
I decided to try my hand at one of the discount Australia auto insurance companies, so I picked Youi. I gave them a call and requested a quote. I was actually surprised to find that their price was $30 more than the quote from Suncorp.
When I told the gentleman I spoke to that I had to think about it, he asked me if I had gotten any other quotes. I told him about the car insurance quote from Suncorp and when he learned of the price difference, he said, "What if I could get the price down for you, would you be willing to purchase the policy from us?"
I told him that I probably would if the price was right. He put me on hold for a moment and came back and offered me a policy that was $50 less than the one from Suncorp, so I went with it.
Imagine that! A drop of $80 in the blink of an eye. Amazing to realize how much margin insurance agents have to reduce your cost when you simply take the trouble to shop around.
Let that be a lesson to all of us! ;)
