Have you ever heard of Allstate Moped insurance coverage?
If you're still a college kid at heart or are just trying to save on gas money by using a motorcycle or scooter, you need to know about the options for coverage available at Allstate.
You went out and bought a helmet and safety gear. So I bet you want good insurance coverage to go along with that, right? If this sounds like you, then you need to check out Allstate's moped coverage.
Allstate moped offers some really good features with their moped, scooter, and motorcycle coverage.
These include the First-Accident Waver, Optional or Added Equipment, Towing and Labor Costs, Lease Loan Gap, medical payments coverage, personal injury protection, collision, comprehension, uninsured/underinsured motorist liability, property damage liability, bodily injury liability, and other benefits.
The First-Accident Waiver coverage in Allstate moped forgives your first accident and doesn't raise your motorcycle insurance premium. In order to use this feature, you must meet four criteria:
Optional or Added Equipment is the next kind of coverage that Allstate scooters or Sears Allstate motorcycles need to have.
After all, what happens if someone steals your bike or it gets totaled? If you have insurance through Allstate, this policy can help.
Your motorcycle insurance already comes with $1,000 of coverage on additional upgrades. You can also buy extra protection that raises your limit up to $30,000.
If your bike breaks down or you're in an accident, don't worry about the cost of getting it home or to the shop. Allstate moped Towing & Labor Costs usually reimburses you for the costs of towing your vehicle and the related labor. If your bike gets stolen or has to spend time in the shop, Rental Reimbursement typically helps cover the cost of a rental.
If you have a Harley-Davidson, Touring and Touring Sport, your policy automatically includes this. Additionally, you can buy the coverage for other kinds of bikes, as well.
Lease/Loan Gap Coverage is good to have if your bike get totaled or taken while you are still paying for a lease or loan. If you have Lease/Loan Gap Coverage as part of your Allstate Moped or Insurance policy, Allstate will likely pay the difference between your motorcycle and loan or lease.
In order to get Gap coverage, you must have Comprehensive and Collision Coverages on the same policy. You can typically take advantage of this coverage only if you've made a claim for Collision or Comprehensive Coverage.
Medical Payments coverage is another important feature to include in your Allstate moped or motorcycle policy. It covers reasonable and necessary medical expenses that are from any injury to you or your passengers. Some examples that may be covered include ambulance, hospital, x-ray, dental, and surgical.
Additionally, Personal Injury Protection is needed if you're hurt in an accident. After all, expenses could add up faster than you imagine. This type of Allstate moped coverage offers you reimbursements for medical and hospital costs, lost income, services for things you would normally do yourself, funeral costs, and child care costs.
Note that you are usually covered regardless of who was at fault. This coverage is only available in certain states.
Collision coverage is also important to have. It usually covers damages to your Allstate scooter or Sears Allstate motorcycle that result from a collision with another object, including another car or motorcycle, a tree, or a building.
Similarly, Comprehensive Coverage typically covers your bike if it's damaged by flooding, wind, vandalism, theft, or another reason besides a crash with other vehicles. You can choose the amount of your deductible. Comprehensive Coverage usually will cover the cost to repair or replace your bike, up to the actual cash value.
If an accident isn't your fault, you don't want to pay for the other guy's mistake. This is especially true if he doesn't have enough insurance coverage or any at all.
Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Bodily injury coverage basically covers damages that result from the injury or death of you or a passenger on your motorcycle caused by an uninsured or underinsured driver. Different states have different requirements for which coverage to have and how much is needed.
If you are at fault in an accident and cause damage to others’ property, make sure you have Property Damage Liability Coverage. This usually pays for damages that you cause to another person’s property, including vehicles, private residences, storefronts and other structures.
If you’re at fault in a crash, it might be your responsibility to cover the medical bills for your passenger or the other driver. In a case like that, Bodily Injury Liability typically covers damages that result from the injury or death of another driver or a guest passenger on your motorcycle when you are at fault.
You might be responsible for medical costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering. (In most states, bodily injury to guest passengers on your motorcycle is automatically provided under this coverage.
In other states, you can pay an additional premium so that Bodily Injury Liability also applies to guest passengers or you can get a separate Passenger Liability coverage.
