If you haven't heard of AAA Roadside Assistance, some might wonder if you've been living under a rock! :)
No offense intended, but the AAA Motor Club has been around a lot longer than any of us, I'm sure. Unless you're over 100 years old, there's no comparison.
Yep! The American Automobile Association was started over a century ago when cars were first manufactured in America and the first group of men fell in love with their cars.
Keep in mind that there weren't very many vehicles back then, so these early car enthusiasts formed this club in Chicago to help insure better options for those who wanted to start sharing the road with all the horse and buggies of the day.
We've certainly come a long way!
The AAA motor club has evolved into a very reputable roadside assistance program for drivers all across the United States and several other countries, too.
Whether you've got a brand new vehicle or a car that's on its last leg, it is such a good idea to have a plan in place in case of emergencies. We just never know when one will arise.
AAA Roadside Assistance will offer you towing services, tire replacement, battery recharge, fuel delivery, and more to get you back on the road as quickly as possible.
A lot of young guys don't feel that they need a roadside assistance program because they can change their own tires, etc. That's fair enough, but when you consider the fact that one tow is likely to cost at least a couple hundred bucks, that annual AAA membership fee doesn't look so bad after all (well under $100 per year).
What about your parents or your wife? Wouldn't it be nice to know that if they managed to get stranded somewhere with unexpected car trouble they had a number to call and get help asap? I think so. I purchased AAA roadside assistance for my own parents just so I could have peace of mind!
Of course, Triple A isn't the only auto club out there, though they are likely the oldest and most well known. These days, the Good Sam Club also offers roadside assistance for drivers of all vehicles, not just the RV roadside assistance for which they are pretty famous.
Don't be a scrooge or a penny-pincher. You'll be very glad you have a motor club membership should you or someone you love ever need help on the road. It's well worth every one of those pennies!
